Why it works
- We stay with you. We work with you (and sometimes work for you) in a direct one-on-one coaching relationship for as long as it takes.
- The incubator model is action-based / real-time learning.
- We are highly experienced in working with the independent arts sector.
- We know that the learning style of entrepreneurial artists is story and metaphor and requires direct and immediate application to be mastered.
- All the skills and strategies taught are delivered when the artist or organisation needs to know them.
- We are highly skilled producers who can improvise.
Artitst and arts organisations work with the Incubator in one of three ways:
• Resident Artists and Companies — Artists and arts organisations work with the incubator as resident companies, signing up for coaching, training and mentoring in 6-month blocks. Goals, plans, skills and strategies are agreed upon and the artists meet with the incubator coach once per fortnight for planning and progress in addition to what we call ‘triage’ coaching (dealing with whatever is urgent today)
• Ad-Hoc Artists and Companies — In addition to resident companies, artists and organisations can work with the Incubator in an ad-hoc basis, booking sessions to deal with a specific issue or goal.
• Seminars and Forums — The Incubator also serves the larger industry sector by offering very tailored seminars and forums that include a full day’s training on topics identified by the sector.
